IoT Based GPS Tracker
Abstract – In this article, we have discussed and analyze the internet of things (IoT) based vehicle tracking & vehicular emergency system. IoT devices equipped with Wi-Fi allow machine-to-machine communication using IoT technique a vehicle tracking system (VTS) can be built. A vehicle tracking system combines the use of automatic vehicle location of individual vehicles with software that collects these fleet data for a comprehensive picture of vehicle locations. Modern Vehicle tracking system commonly use GPS technology for locating the vehicle, but other types of automatic vehicle location technology can also be used.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Client is basically from the African area, where lots of internet issue occurs much time. They provides the fleet management system within their company, fleet management includes a range of functions, such as vehicle financing, vehicle maintenance, vehicle telematics for a (route tracking & diagnostic). Fleet management is a function that allows companies that rely on transportation in business to remove or minimize the risks associated with vehicle investment improving efficiency, productivity and reducing their overall transportation costs.
CHALLENGES
In African areas, they have a problem with the internet , because of less internet connectivity . In android based application’s , google map API does not work correctly to return live GPS latitude/longitude values to track vehicles that are running for the journey.
HOW PRODUCT HELPED
To overcome this problem, we uses GPS hardware module. GPS hardware module uses a satellite network connection that does not require any internet connection.
GPS hardware module uses antenna’s which are directly connected using frequency values. GPS hardware module which is connected to mobile device which reads the live data from the hardware module and saves offline data to device and sync data to server when the application is connected to internet.
Above fig shows the vehicle booking history which includes, journey booking information such as by whom journey is booked, journey start date, end date and journey status i.e. journey is confirmed or not.
Above fig shows the admin panel, in which admin can track the all vehicles.
